Sue O'Connor is Managing Director of Balcombe Consulting (established 2006) and an experienced company director.

Balcombe Consulting works with boards and senior executives to maximise profitable growth in the water, renewable energy, smart grid, telecommunications and environmental sectors. Results are achieved through the application of the highest quality strategic thinking and implementation, market innovation and best practice governance. Sue was previously a Group General Manager at Telstra Corporation (13 years) reporting at Group Manager Director level where she successfully led the establishment of a number of new lines of business.

Sue is a Director of Goulburn Valley Water and was previously a Director of Vicsports, Prince Henry's Medical Research Foundation, Melbourne Rowing Club and the Mastermind Group. She has a Bachelor of Applied Science, Graduate Diploma of Business Management, AICD Company Directors Diploma and attended Harvard Business School. Sue is a regular long term facilitator in the AICD Company Director's Diploma, on the adjunct faculty of the AGSM, and is a member of Vicwater, the Energy and Utilities Network and Smart Grid Australia.

Sue is an avid rower and cyclist and occasional visual artist.

Sue Gould is a highly experienced director with 10+ years director and general management experience in the waste management industry and a long term educator of senior level staff and directors. She has been involved at start up, maturity and turn around phases of private businesses. Sue has lectured in governance and finance at Swinburne Institute of Technology for many years.

 

With Balcombe Consulting, Sue specializes in working with directors and senior executives to improve understanding and performance in governance and assessing, developing and delivering programs to improve both governance and business performance.

Nicole is an experienced General Manager and Company Secretary. Prior to joining Balcombe Consulting as an associate, she was General Manager of a 40 person global software development business with offices in Melbourne, China, Malaysia and the UK and then an independent consultant. She has strong experience in leadership of global teams, board governance, business process improvement and organisational restructures with a special focus on the Corporate Support and Human Resource functions and company set up, turn around and sale.

Originally from Shepparton in Regional Victoria, Nicole returned to the Goulburn Valley in 2008. Since then she has demonstrated that she can deliver top quality support both remotely and on location. Her recent consulting projects include: sale of web development business for Helix Digital, a Melbourne digital agency; provision of corporate support services for EC Strategies, a Melbourne based technology advisory company and provision of HR and Finance business improvement advice to Murray Dairy, Tatura.

Nicole is passionate about making a contribution in the region and to her community. She is a member of the Taste of Tatura Festival Committee.

Kate’s career has spanned more than three decades in business-to-business communications with roles in multinational corporations and small-to-medium enterprises as well as associations, not for profit organisations and the public sector. She has seen and understands what makes a successful enterprise and what makes great management.

 

Her talents lie in her ability to quickly absorb the cultural and business drivers of her clients and to craft effective marketing materials which reflect the information needs of targetted audiences.

 

Kate is also a director of Tanda International which provides consultancy services to Australian and multi-national organisations with international trade regulatory issues, particularly within Asia, and business facilitation services for ecologically sustainable construction in China

Pamela has been a management and organization consultant for over 30 yrs working with global Fortune 500 companies, emerging high-tech organizations, education and scientific agencies.  Dr. Dennis founded Destra Consulting Group in Boulder, building it into a $6 million international organization development firm divesting her interest in 2003 after nearly 20 years.

 

Today, she specializes in working with CEO’s and boards on building effectiveness at the executive level based on strategy alignment and strong execution disciplines.

 

Her clients have included GE, Telstra Ltd, Merck, BHPBilliton, SUN Microsystems, JP Morgan, GM, DHL, Australia Post, NiSource, NASA,  National Center for Atmospheric Research and others.

 

She divides her time between the stunning Rocky Mountains and the sparkling Pacific Ocean. When she is not providing wise advice to CEOs, Pamela explores the rewards of  personal travel and grandchildren.
